When we lived in
Harrah, at Uncle Mark's, we had these baby owls. They all hung around for quite a while until they left to start their new homes. They didn't seem scared of us, and was actually curious. They would all sit on the porch ledge and look in the living room window at us watching TV. This particular one liked to perch on our plant holder and check us out while we were actually standing on the porch!
This little guy is another story. He is a different breed of owl than the others and for some reason was hanging out on the ground during the day. I was afraid he was hurt and the dogs would get him, so I tried to call the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.
Apparently they are closed on the weekends! But he finally flew up into a tree and was out of danger. Next day, he was gone.
If you look close you can see the red eyes of another baby owl. They would all congregate in this tree by the front porch each evening, before spreading out to hunt.
